The challenge

Upgrading the Kitgum–Kidepo Road required updated ESIA and RAP studies to meet UKEF financing standards and national regulations. The project passed through environmentally sensitive and populated areas, necessitating stakeholder engagement, baseline assessments, and the integration of revised road designs within tight project timelines

02

Our approach

The assignment included reviewing road engineering designs, conducting stakeholder consultations, and carrying out environmental and social scoping assessments along the project corridor. The team worked closely with UNRA and key stakeholders to identify project risks, prepare the ESIA Scoping Report, and support budgeting and planning for the full ESIA and RAP studies. Dott Services/ASGC UK implemented the work under subcontract from Environmental Solutions Africa (ESA), South Africa.

03

The result

Tenvicon successfully delivered the ESIA Scoping Report and preliminary RAP framework, providing a strong foundation for the full environmental and social assessment process. The assignment ensured compliance with national regulations and UKEF safeguard requirements while supporting informed project development decisions
